All Who Wander

You could say Christie Metcalf’s love of rock started early. Her parents could attest to that fact when she would come home with pockets full of rocks. So, it was no surprise that when Christie started renovating her yard in the Heber Valley, natural stone would be a big part of the landscape. But sometimes the most difficult part of a yard makeover is finding the right material.

Some might call it serendipity or chance. One day while exploring the Valley, Christie saw an unpaved road leading into the foothills with a sign that read, “Public Welcome.” The road was a little steep, but she was determined. Then she finally found herself staring at beautiful stacks of red flagstone and an office trailer.

She found her people.

Our American Stone team in Heber was ready to help Christie get just what she needed. She was grateful that American Stone was very organized, provided clear cut communication, and gave her the eye catching color she was looking for.

It was important that a few things be dealt with immediately. First was an AC unit sitting on the ground that needed to be level. Then came a spot off a finished deck that needed a sturdy landing, and finally a central gathering spot for friends and family. American Stone helped provide patio stone for both the AC unit and the deck transition. But the matching boulders and a firepit made the perfect place for laughter and conversation.

The first round of Cherokee Red stone made Christie’s yard pop. But she’s just getting started. We’re just happy Christie started exploring, and when her neighbor’s stop to admire the work, she isn’t shy about giving out the name American Stone. Thanks Christie.
