Cookie Cutters Aren’t for Homes

There are some appealing reasons to live in Florida. Sunshine, beaches, and long warm days. What might not be so desirable is moving into a neighborhood where every house is covered in the same “flat, no texture” boring stucco. Yeah, there might be some slight variation in color or shade, but the first thought from Brooke and James Harhi seeing their new Florida neighborhood was “blah.”

The inside of the home was exactly what the couple was looking for, so in spite of the boring curb appeal, they knew they found home.

Once settled inside, the outside became a priority. Brooke started looking for an alternative look, but living in an HOA meant there could be some hurdles to make a change that would bring some unique curb appeal. The first thought was to simply repaint, but that was quickly dismissed.

Lucky for James and Brooke, they had an established relationship with the sales team at American Stone.

It was suggested to the Harhi’s that they look at a stone veneer. Not just any stone veneer, but a quality manufactured ProVia stone veneer.

James was onboard quickly because he could see the ROI.  With the help of the American Stone team, he created a mock up to submit to the HOA. Brooke was a little more reluctant, but that didn’t last long. As the process continued and with the approval of the HOA, Brooke could see what was possible. Nothing too busy, not crazy different, nor too overpowering, and the Harhi’s were off to the races.

A local contractor was found who had never tried ProVia. After a short week or so of work, he was totally sold on it and happy with the way the product went up.

The best part of the story were the four neighbors who followed Brooke and James lead to make the boring beautiful. Thanks for letting American Stone be part of your story, and enjoy that curb appeal. It was worth it.
